DVD Slide Show Service

The Overview

Using the various slides, negatives and photographs from your scanning order (click here to review our services) or from the photographs that you have sent us on CD or DVD, we can create an interactive DVD Slide Show to your specifications.  Your DVD Slide Show will contain at least one chapter with each chapter featuring its own slide show, menu selection and choice of music.

A DVD Slide Show is ideal for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, other special family gatherings and events. They are also ideal for vacation photos, retirement parties, creating corporate promotional video's, etc.

The key to a successful DVD Slide Show is planning.  Please refer to our DVD Slide Show Planning page for more details.

**Note:  The music, if any to be used in the DVD Slide Show, must be provided by you (i.e. you must have a legal copy), or can be downloaded by us at a charge of $10 per song.  This will serve as you legal copy and will not be retained by us.

DVD Slide Show Features

  1. Up to 2 hours of play back time.

  2. Custom chapter titles.

  3. Up to about 950 photos.  This is assuming a 5 second display time and 1 second fade in and out.

  4. Custom transitions between photos.

  5. Custom slides for introduction, comments, credits.

  6. Music of your choice can be used.

  7. Images optimized for your TV's aspect ratio, either 4:3 (Standard) or 16:9 (Widescreen).

Our Process

  1. Once your items to be used in the DVD Slide Show have been scanned by us using one of our scanning services or have been received by us from you on a CD DVD, they are sorted as per your instructions for the DVD Slide Show.

  2. The photographs and music are then loaded into our software. The DVD Slide Show menus are then created as are the desired transition effects, titles, etc.

  3. The DVD Slide Show is then created.  A sample of the DVD Slide Show is then placed on the web for your viewing and approval.

  4. Once the final product has been approved by you your DVD Slide Show is then burned to a DVD-R disk as these are much more compatible with existing DVD players then the DVD+R format disks. For DVD player compatibility with DVD-R disks please click here.

  5. Once final payment has been received for all services your DVD Slide Show disk, along with all associated materials, are shipped back to you.

Planning Your DVD Slide Show

Some Basic Tips

The key thing to remember when organizing a DVD Slide Show is planning. Your slides, photo's and other items that you wish to incorporate into the DVD Slide Show need to be well planned out and organized. For example, Planning a DVD Slide Show for a family wedding:

  1. Gather and sort all of the photo's and materials that you intend to use

  2. How many chapters or shows do you want? Three seems to be the best.

  3. Two of the chapters should be baby and childhood photo's. One for the bride and one for the groom. Chapter 1 should be the bride. Chapter 2 for the groom.

  4. Remaining chapter(s) should be of bride and groom together, extended family, events, etc.

  5. Choice of music. How long is the song? Is the song appropriate for the photo's that are being displayed? Do you have a legal copy of the music to be used? For a song that is 4 minutes long, approx. 35 photo's will be required (1 sec. fade in, 5 sec. display, 1 sec. fade out).

  6. Adding text to pictures or adding text frames. What text do you want to add where?
