Our Process
- Slides are individually examined, cleaned using compressed air or a lint
free cloth and
mounts, if any, are removed and discarded.
- Slides are then sorted as per film type (black & white, colour,
kodachrome, 35mm, 110, 126, etc) as necessary. Please refer to the
information on the right of the screen for slide format definitions.
- All slides are checked to make sure that the emulsion side is down or
facing away. Most slides will indicate this by stating "This side
toward screen". For others the slides are held up to a light where the
dull side will be the emulsion side.
- A test scan of several of the 35mm Slides is then completed using the
settings that you selected on your "35mm Positive/Slide Scanning Order Form".
Once everything has been tested and adjustments made the scanning of your
items is commenced.
- Once the scanning of your 35mm slides is completed according to your
specifications, each photo is then viewed on our colour calibrated monitors
where they are then cropped and corrected as necessary.
- During the scanning process, depending upon the number of items to be
scanned, samples are placed on a secure website for you viewing. These
files will typically be about 100KB in size and will not be suitable for
printing. They will remain on the website for up to 6 weeks.
- Once all items are scanned they are then burned to either CD's or DVD's
as per your requests.
- Once complete payment has been received from you all items will be
shipped back to you.
